Carl Vinson is the Owner & Operator of Made Man Protection, located in Northern California out of the Northbay.
Made Man Protection and Carl Vinson’s skills set him apart as personal & private security/bodyguard. Some of his high profile security clients consist of Asian Da Doll artist of Gucci Mane, Lil B (formerly of the wolfpack), Tammy Roman of Basketball Wives, NeNe Leakes, Snoop Dogg, Grand Master Flash, DJ Quik, Montel Jordan, Nelly, Jerry Rice, Dymond John, founder of FUBU clothing line & cast members of the multi-Emmy, Award-winning reality show on ABC, “Shark Tank”, and Kara Monaco 2006 Play Boy Bunny of the year. He has hosted the VIP Celebrity Bash for Oakland Raiders & San Francisco 49ers, and the John Legend concert after party, also Flava of Love casting search with the VH1 network and producers. Many special bay area events have relied on Carl Vinson for security – Fashion on Union Square in San Francisco, CA., Caribbean Fest Day in San Francisco, CA., Geoffrey Inner Circle in Oakland, CA., City Of Oakland Recreation Department in Oakland, CA.
Made Man Protection has been directly involved and promoted events and key artist(s) he assisted the president of BMA (Bay Area Black Music Awards) with promotions, (from clear channels to grass roots promotions) which gives tribute to artist considered as living legends in the music industry namely, Tony Toni Tone, Too Short, George Duke, Michael Nirada Walden, Con Funk Shun, and the Hall of Fame Awardees The Pointer Sisters, also bay area legend “Suga-T” (E-40 sister). In 2006 Made Man Enterprises/Carl Vinson also promoted the successful event First Young Starz Summer Jump Off with an appearance by “DPT (Disturbing the Peace)”, “Bobby Valentino”, 3 original members of B2K, “DJ Backside”. R&B group “Identity” of Los Angeles, CA. This event was a program to support inner-city youth. In 2016 Carl provided security services for host “Jon Taffer” of the reality series “Bar Rescue” on the (formerly Spike Network), now Paramount Network, for the 2 bars. Fogline Bar (formerly Russell City Bar & Grill) located in Hayward, Ca. Sam Jordan’s Bar & Grill located in San Francisco, Ca. Sam Jordan’s is the oldest African-American-owned bar in San Francisco, Ca. In 2017, Made Man Enterprises/Carl Vinson assisted with the Bay 2 Breakers Marathon in San Francisco, CA. He also assisted security at the 2017 Pride Parade in San Francisco, CA.
Carl Vinson is the former Associate Producer and On-Air personality of “Friday Night Vibe” syndicated Hip Hop radio show with “T-Kash” (94.1FM www.KPFA.org). He is the former Associate Producer and On-Air personality of the Bomb Bay Mix radio show with “DJ-X1” (89.5FM www.KPOO.com. Carl Vinson has hosted and personally sponsored The Father’s Day Parade & Celebration to pay homage to fathers and father figures.
Because of his own personal observations as a young man, Carl volunteered with the City of Hayward Police Activity League (PAL). Hayward’s Mayor, Roberta Cooper, nominated him as Volunteer of the Year. He was the MVP for hoops for hunger basketball charity event benefiting a homeless shelter. He is an advocate & Mentor for special needs, autistic, physical and mentally challenged children.
Carl in 2015 became a member of SEIU Local 2015 and in 2016 he became a member of IHSS (In House Supportive Services) Bargaining Contract Committee for SEIU Local 2015. He assisted in negotiating there first major union contract, since chartered in 2015 in Solano County. Carl also in 2017- (Present) is a member of Solano County IHSS Public Authority Advisory Committee that provides ongoing advice and recommendations regarding IHSS and the Public Authority to the Solano County Board of Supervisors. Carl also was involved in the 2019 Fiesta Days Parade in Vacaville, CA., advocating for Autism Heroes 24/7 during Autism Awareness Month of May for young & older adults. Last, but not least, Carl was the key speaker at the 2019 San Jose Job Corps student graduation class of 2019 in San Jose, CA.
About the Founder:
Carl was born in the city of Houston Texas. In a district called 3rd ward (South Side) but raised in 5th ward (North Side) and Trinity Gardens (North Side) considered one of the toughest areas of Houston. Carl then relocated to California in the Bay Area in June 1994.
Carl refers to his company as the “all in one” service. This reference is supported by his ability to strategically and continually develop affiliates to work with him. He also has a strong personal team with access to businesses and/or services in order to offer a complete package of any and all services needed. This also guarantees repeat clients who continue to request Carl’s personal services. These clients also refer others to hire Carl due to his 100% excellent service, his strong business ethnics, his being involved from beginning to end and completing each job to the client’s satisfaction.
Carl focus will continue to upscale the direction of his companies, to give back through community involvement. He has created his own community leader/ social club, called Organized General (OG). Advocating for community awareness, concerns and issues that drastically need to improve.
Because of his desire to give back he continues to support community and inner city involvement. Carl continues to show his passion to help others and the less fortunate because of the personal experience he himself has lived. This has also kept him driven to speak out for others that would normally not have a voice.
